someone please tell me what these books are about

the divergent trilogy is set in a futuristic chicago where people are divided among factions with different traits, i.e. dauntless, abnegation, erudite, candor and amity. at a given date every year all 16 year olds take an aptitude test to tell them which faction they’re best suited for. results can come back inconclusive, if it says you belong to more than one factions, you’re divergent. divergence is considered dangerous. anyway after the choosing ceremony where you chose a faction, you go through initiation to become a member of the selected faction, if you don’t make it through you become factionless, which is equivalent to being homeless. basically the protagonist, beatrice/tris chooses dauntless after she came from abnegation, like her, her brother is also a faction transfer. she is divergent and so is her love interest who treats her like shit most of the time to ‘protect’ her. in dauntless they go through a lot of simulation exercises which tris tops all the initiates because she’s divergent. the simulation serum was invented by erudite, the faction of intelligence. erudite is trying to overthrow the government which is ran by the abnegation because they’re trying to get some secret information. most of the dauntless, the faction of the brave, they’re injected with a serum and they’re hypnotized into combat to attack the abnegation which is masterminded by the erudite, tris and her boyfriend is immune to the serum because of their divergence so they’re not hypnotized like the others and they try to escape, they’re caught and taken to the erudite leader jeanine, who then injects four/tobias, tris’ bf with a different serum that works on the divergent to oversee the attack. she puts tris in a room to drown and she’s rescued by her mother, who is previously dauntless, an abnegation transfer because she’s divergent and her mother told her to chose a different faction to be safe. her mother dies on their way to look for the others, she finds the others and then they went off to the amity sector, and she takes off with her father, brother and marcus (abnegation’s leader/tobias’ abusive father) to the dauntless headquarter’s control room where tobias is overseeing the attack, she wants shut down the simulation to stop the dauntless from attacking the abnegation, her father dies on the way, they did shut it down and headed from the train to the amity. they were permitted to stay then the erudite arrived, gunfire began, they escaped and ran into the factionless who has plans for a revolution. tris and tobias goes to candor, the faction of honesty, where they’re injected with truth serum to make certain they weren’t on erudite’s side. the erudite, dauntless traitors break into the candor building and shot many people with a new simulation serum which brainwashes people to step off the roofs to their deaths and they would only stop once a divergent volunteers oneself for study. When they realized that Tris volunteers and goes to the erudite building and agrees to be tested on as long as the results are explained to her. then she sees her brother working with jeanine. 

okay i would continue, but i’m tired of typing in the dark, but you get the hint of what’s going on. what i wrote is about book 1 and part of this book. however the bad part is the climax in divergent is to the end of the book unfortunately
